Buzz Feiten Formula...
I'm wondering...rather than buying a Korg tuner just for this Buzz tuning thing, can't I just do it with a
strobe tuner
? I can tune in cents with it, so I would just need the formula right? Anyone know what it's about? I know the nut is setup fine and all that, but is the actual difference in tuning that is done to it? Like I heard the D is tuned 2 cents flat or something, but what about the rest?
Sorry if it's been discussed...tried search and will try some more...

Found a post from someone named Shawn that had a general idea of it...I guess the guage of strings changes everything, as well as type of string. So there's no definite measurement anywhere that will cut it. Only Buzzy knows I guess...lol

part of the theory entails shortening the scale length by a few thousandths of an inch as well as the intoning the B string a few cents off.
I would think, that in theory, you may have enough play on the intonation slides that you could accomplish the same thing.

I think one of the several ideas behind his system, and earvana and the like, is to correct for scale length issues as they apply to the distance between the nut and the first fret.

You know, you're correct, I'd forgotten about that.
Gresh is right.

I can't remember the url, but I believe that the patent info can be found at the USPTO's website. If I recall correctly, the specifics are laid out in the patent text. As long as you do the work yourself, and don't make any money off of it, you can do the mod.
