It really bugs me that guitars don't sound any good with equal temperament even if you go nuts trying to get the intonation bang on the money. From what I've read, the Buzz-Feiten system goes a long way towards addressing this. Does anyone have any experience with having their Jems/UVs 'Feitinised' ? Is it worth it? Does the guitar get trashed due to the modifications required (problems with re-fitting the locking nut?)? Is it pricey? Is the new tuning system a pain to get the hang of when tuning/intonating one's own guitar?
no experiences, but i've read (on Dan Erlewine's books) that peoples like Vai & Satch are Feiten devotees. almost all of their guitars are feitenised.
i know for sure that's a very expensive job, and it doesn't trashes your guitar at all.
