Can i block off my ZR trem?

Hey, i just got a s5470, and i was wondering if i could completely block of the tremolo so that it doesnt dive down or up. then take off the locking nut and get some locking. The purpose would be because i dont use the tremolo and for easier tuning/string changing.

Why did you buy a tremolo equipped guitar if you don't use it?

Re: Can i block off my ZR trem?

if you don't like the tremolo sell the guitar and get fixed bridge version.

I would not constantly block it off, but you can e.g create yourself small pieces of wood which stick in the back between the tremolo block and cavity on both sides.
That rather helps if you change strings or exchange pickups or sim.
Helps tuning as well, cause if the trem block is fixed and leveled then you can tune it simply. Take the blocks out after tuning then adjust the feather tension if needed, so it stays tuned.

The zr is really good in terms of tuning stability, I normally never have to retune after the strings have been stretched.

Isn't there a way to make it dive-only? Which would be pretty much a hardtail if you don't stick the trem arm in.
