Re: can i move my input jack

You can do that, it takes some drilling and re-wiring, just search around the forum some, I'm sure somebody has done it, and there may be an accurate spec on it.

Re: can i move my input jack

I did it to my RG7620...Just go to projectguitar.com. They've got a tutorial on it....Can't remember, but you'll need a half inch dowel to fill in the old location, should slide right in there. Ya might want to set up some sort of jig to drill it, I did mine free hand and it wasn't too bad...

doing it free hand gave me a kind of sloppy outside edge but with a little filler and some sanding, it turned out just fine

I believe the is a slight bevel'radius to it as well, the input jack should also be recessed slightly too i believe, but i'm not sure how much.

No---it's against Ibanez policy to modify any of their products---you'll go to jail! Bwaaaaaah haaaaaaa haaaaaaa!

Here's the tutorial link:

You can recess it as much as you want really (but not too much!). I went deeper than the standard Jems go....

which series do you have.......RG2xx,3xx,4xx,etc??

The input jack is different on the RG4xx series and lower. The project is the same, but the process is slightly different.

I'm actually doing this mod on my RG450 right now. I have some pics I can post, but the job is not finished yet............
