Can you put a left handed neck on a right handed guitar?

Hi all!

Can you put a left handed neck on a right handed guitar? I have always wanted an ibanez with a reversed headstock, and was wondering is this is possible.

If any of you have tried it, please let me know if it works or not.

Thanks!

it depends on the neck joint. it will not work with an all access neck. on the older style neck joint, absolutely. i have an rg560 with a left handed wizard neck. it's awesome! the other thing to remember is you don't have side markers. they would now be on the bottom of the neck.lol

Actually it will work with all access. You have to do some re-profiling, and you will have gaps, but it definately works.

In fact that guitar will be finished this weekend. Pics will be sent.

Well isn't it obvious that by him saying its not gonna work on an all access joint is meant for trying to fit it with no modifications?

Thats just like saying, that truck wont fit in that gargage, but if we widen the garage, it will

Just remember that this way you will end up with no side markers. SOme people likely don't care but I missed them a lot. You can buy side dot material from StewMac if you need them.
