Carvin Legacy 100W combo Tube Replacement

I have a set of Groove Tubes in there now and want to replace them with the original tubes.

What is the proper way to remove them? I tried simply pulling straight down on them, but they are wedged in there pretty tightly.

There is a little metal cupling (if that's the right term) snug around the top of the tube. Should that be lossened or removed before pulling on the tube. It's kind of hard to get to that screw.

Thanks,
Russ

If I remember from my owners manual (sorry I'm at work so I don't have it here) you need to turn the amp upside down and GENTLY turn the tubes in a circular motion as you pull them out. I don't think you have to do anything with the couplings around the tube.
If anyone has their owners manual handy then correct me if I'm wrong.
Good luck

OK according to my manual......

it says :

" ...remove by pushing the retainers on the base of the tubes down and rock the tubes in a circular motion while pulling them out. It is recommended to turn the amp upside down to replace tubes. All tubes are keyed in the same direction. "

I hope that helps. Also you can call them(Carvin) at (800) 854-2235 or go to the Carvin website if you need any more help. Their customer service is pretty good, they actually reply to emails too.

Just let the tech change them when you bring in your amp for biasing. If there are groove tubes in there now...................it has more than likely been biased for those tubes..........................highly recommended by groove tube.................don't take a chance...........................your sound depends on it. It's very inexpensive insurance.
