Changing Pickups with "Made in Indonesia" RG Series

Hello JemSite Members.
I am new here, and I hope you can bear with me

I own an Ibanez RG370DX "Made in Indonesia". I own the guitar for 2 years, and thanks to the infinity pickups. They have done their best in these 2 years, but now time to change the pickups. I already decided on what pickups I was going to buy
(DiMarzio Breed for the Bridge, DiMarzio Tone Zone S for the Middle, DiMarzio PAF Pro for the Neck, ).
But something freaked me out, I called a friend of my father. He is an Electrician - he had 25 years of experience with guitars too- to change the pickups for me. He told me that

"Indonesian Ibanez guitars are of poor quality circuits and after you change the pickups, the new pickups won't be working great as the circuits are really poor in quality and won't let them work at their best tone. It is better for you to look for Korean or Japanese made Ibanez. And if you will but a new guitar, I advice you to go away from any "Made in Indonesia" Ibanez. "Made in Indonesia" ESP are better in quality". That really made me sad, because I liked that Ibanez very much and not willing to change the brand for my next guitar.

That freaked me out as I can't afford a new guitar now. I don't have the money for it, that is why I decided to change the pickups.

Any help on this, Is there someone who changed the pickups with new ones and prove what he said wrong ?

Thank you

I seriously doubt the switch, pots and jack would make enough difference in tone to even be noticeable. But if you still aren't sure, it wouldn't cost much to replace them all with good quality parts anyway, about $20.
As for the other part, it really doesn't matter what guitar you use as long as you feel comfortable playing it and you think it sounds good.

Regardless if electronics are crappy you can always replace them with quality components for little money afterwards.

In saying that, the components on your guitar should be fine.

The pots and jack in the MII Xiphos I got this year are fine, nothing wrong with them. If you like the guitar, swap the pickups, don't worry about the electronics.

Also, that bit about Indo ESP/LTD guitar being better made is a complete crock.

My very first ibanez was a rg370dx. I still have it, and I love that guitar. I have EMG actives in mine and she really screams. I HIGHLY doubt that the electronics, even if "poor quality" will change enough for you to even know a difference. As they have said, you can replace ALL the electronics for an easy 20-30 bucks if you are that worried about it. Play the guitar and do what YOU want to do with it, not what someone else does. Facts are one thing, opinions are another.
