Changing string gauge on my 7vwh?

Hello...

I'mv wanting to switch from 9's to 10's on my jem7vwh. What tricks of the trade do you all recommend for making it a pianless process??

Would i need an extra spring, adjust the trem angle, mess with the truss rod??

Help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks In advance

I have had tens on my VWH for about 4 years now. You will have to tighten the springs/adjust the trem angle a good bit, but another spring is not needed. As far as the truss rod I did adjust mine a little bit. I would go ahead and change the strings and adjust the trem angle and play it for a couple of days and let it settle. Then you can see if you need to adjust the truss rod.

PS.: The VWH sounds great with .10s!!!! I use DAddario EXL110 XL.

I always go with 4 sprigs, just a personal preference.

thanks for the replies...

how would i know if the truss rodd needed doing or not, and how do I go about it if it does? Truss rods have always been my grey area

I think i'll try the 4 springs, and whatever trem angle adjust needs..

Should I change one string at a time or take the all off...normally i would just change one at a time...but being as the extra tension and spring has to be accounted for i'm unsure,

help again please!?

thanks

I change one string at a time. Don't be scared when the trem is pointing to the sky. Gradually tighten the springs as you go.
