Changing string gauges - What's to be setup again ?

Hi,

my brand new JEM is factory setup for .09-.42 strings, but I prefer to play with .10-.46 (standard EADGBE tuning).
So I had my guitar shop setup the guitar for that...

But it seems to me the setup has changed a bit, after 4 days of use. I think the Lo-Pro Edge is not well angled (if I do a full pull-up, the low-E goes up a 4th but the high-E goes up a 3rd, for instance). Worse, I think the action could have raised a bit : I mesured about 2.5mm at the 24th fret on the low-E. Could this be that I'd have to straighten the neck, or lower the bridge ?

Or am I imagining things ?

Changing the tremolo angle myself is not a problem, but I'm not too confident about changing the action or straightening the neck, so I would have to take the guitar to the shop again (and live a night without it - unbearable)...

What do you think ? What changes in the setup should be expected when changing gauges ? What setups are independant of the gauge ? Is it usual to have to wait a few days for the guitar to stabilize and do the setup again ? Am I asking to many things at once ?

Help !

P.S. : I did a search on the site and forum but could not find answers about my problem. If I missed something, don't hesitate to point me to it...

Changing string gauges

at minimal you will have to tighten the tremolo claw springs to counter the increased string tension. next would be a possible adjustment of the trussrod if too much relief (bowing) is present. See Jemsite --> Guitar --> TECH area... glen

Changing string gauges

Thank you Glen.

I mesured the fret-string distances and it appears the action and the neck bow are actually just perfect !

Must have been just my imagination. Time to see a doctor I guess :loco:
