fettouhi, we (malaysian) can't get the OFR with that price .
it is around USD200 (RM800-900) at Bentley Music.
but they always dont have a stock of everything.
ibanez trem will cost you higher (but i dont know the exact price)

if OFR suited in your guitar... means Gotoh FR also fit in there.
but they not available in Malaysia .
order it from japan allparts or ishibashi.

Hey there Danny, I reccomend you to buy from the net, you can always get a good but used edge trem on the evil bay, anyway this ILT1 ain't really good but if you were to set it up properly it won't have a problem, I've played on this trem for like years and were able to abuse the crap out of it and still it goes back in tune

Re: changing trem..help

what is the ilt????????????????? never heard of that trem.
anyway, check a few things before changing the tremolo. make sure your locking nut is tight. the clamps and the 2 screws that secure it to the neck. make sure everything is tight. neck screws, saddle screws...
if you pull up and it stays sharp, the tremolo posts might not be level with each other. maybe even put some lubrication on the knife edges. chapstick works well.

It's a short for Ibanez locking trem, it's equipped on the lowest end ibanez guitar like the GRG, here's an example

Re: changing trem..help

OFR and Schaller is almost as expensive, Gotoh is a lot cheaper and i prefer them over a normal OFR coz lower profile and i like the arm better. There's a dude frm our country who bought one for RM627 from Ishibashi music and wait for 2 weeks for pre-order. What i'd actually do is try to hunt one frm the bay, like said, and if nothing pops up, then i'd go to universaljems.com for a brand new one.

And while we're on this topic, my GRG stays intune just fine prior that you set it up really good. I've modded the arm and now it isnt as wobbly/clunky as before. Good guitar, nothing special, nice pearloid sharktooth inlays but if i were you i'd just save up and get a new guitar.

Re: changing trem..help

Ishibashi is an online music shop frm japan and you'd have to pay for the shipment. So far there's no shop that i know that sells OFR/similar, you'd have to order one. Cheap LFRs (RM200+)sells a lot, some are made in China and who knows where else, i wouldnt trust that one.

Re: changing trem..help

OFR, Schaller LFR, Gotoh LFR, amongst that are the best but technically it could fit any LFRs that has the same patent as an OFR.

No chance! You need to get it online, which part of malaysia are you from, besides penang is tiny, but it's the best place to live in malaysia, I'm from Sabah actually and I've lived fro msabh to penang and penang is the best, this is to show how much I love Penang
