Cheapo frankenstrat

Here's something I messed around with during the last couple of days.
A Charvel CMX-DLX, originally red, but after dragging it on concrete for a while and burning it, it turned to something else. I stained it green, and put some furniture wax on it. To my surprise, under the hellish layers of paint I found a one-piece ash(?) body. I was a bit too rough, so it has now some Mad Max sort of aesthetics...

It still has the Charvel Floyd trem, 250k pots, and a cheapo import ibanez-stle switch. The pups are what I had laying around, a Jackson sc, some weird-o sc, and a muddy Shadow sc. The strings are .011s tuned to Eb.

What can I say, it sounds like a cheap strat! And that's what it is, the whole thing cost me $250 to do.

It is too soon to tell if it's going to get some nice pups in it someday. We'll see.

Before.

After.

Awww, those bugger free servers and the things they do! May they get their reward in the next world!

You should try copying and pasting the urls to your browser. That oughta do it.

Ok, here's something.

Surf to http://spuglis.freewebpage.org and click "guitar projects" on the left menu. That should do the trick.

I burned the finish off, then stained it green. I changed the pickguard and the pups.

Aren't those old Strat-head Charvels worth good money these days?

No way! I dig the burned look.

I have no idea when it was made. I think the serial no was 950210 or something. Starting "95" anyway. I can check it if there's interest.

edit - Funk me & my memory. It was 012095.
