choosing body wood

looking for opinions and experiences on two types of wood. korina and mahogany. i have guitars made of mahogany and basswood. but never came across a guitar made of korina to hear or play. has anyone here?

info i found leads me to believe that its fairly close to mahogany but with a little less warmth. i write and play hardrock/heavy metal i use d tuning. wondering if this wood might put the tone i hear in my head closer to that never ending search. i know there are so many factors here too....amp, cab, pickups, room even strings. thanks for your opinions and experences.
