Re: clicking sound on my ibby....

It could be the springs moving around, or the strings hitting the pickups, could be anything really. Mute the springs at the back while diving and see if it goes away.

Re: clicking sound on my ibby....

hi guys! ive checked the springs of the trem...its not the springs or the strings that causes the clicking sound..
ive tried to loose the strings and tried dive bombing the trem again while the strings are loose..this time the clicking sound was gone... i re-tuned the strings and there was the clicking sound again!!
i think the clicking is not trem related...

when i dive bomb,i can feel a little vibration at the neck when it clicks...

ive also checked the trust rod,and everything seems to be ok....

need help in this guys..

thanks!!!!!

Re: clicking sound on my ibby....

I had that problem once on my VWH. It was before I learned how to set up a floating and trem and ended up being the reason I learned how to set them up. I took it to a "supposed" pro to have it set up. I get it back and I got a "click" when I dove or raised the bar. It also would go sharp or flat. Of course I was upset, and after examining the guitar I saw that the bozo who set it up had one of the saddles so far forward that it was catching on the pickguard. I was pissed off, but instead of taking it back to have the re-do it I decided I didn't want them to touch my guitar again and learned how to do it myself.

it happens when you don't tighten the saddle screw enough, then when you tune, the string would drag the saddle toward the neck. this can happen while you're setting up a guitar, but you (pro) are supposed at least to take a look and give it a try before bring the guitar back to the customer...

Re: clicking sound on my ibby....

you said the click comes from the neck, not from the trem, right? have you disassembled the neck too for cleaning?

Your neck screws aren't tight enough.

Re: clicking sound on my ibby....

Yeah tighten up neck screws, this causes a "clicking" noise when using the trem.
