clip lock straps

I want to put a white dimarzio cliplock strap on my JEM7VWH, but I'm afraid that the clips would scratch the heck out of the body. But I also heard that the clips won't scratch the body, which i think is a lie. Will it scratch the body? Should I just go ahead and put them on? And if they do scratch the body, is there anything that I can do to the clips so that I can prevent this? Thanks

I've never had them scratch and I have cliplocks on all my guitars. I suppose you could double sided tape or glue a piece of cotton on the actual plastic part if you want

Welcome to the forum too!

Jeremy is probably pretty careful. I have seen dents, dings, scuffs and scratches caused by clip locks, it's all in how easy you are with them.

I never really considered myself careful, but yeah, when I put them in cases and stuff I do make sure they are away from the body, and I never let my strap slap against the guitar when I take it on or off.

Wow... that is spooky.

The 2 guitars I have clip locks on are scuffed where the plastic rubs on the paint. That's it. No deep scratches or anything like that. I'm not easy with them though.
