Could I do this? - ..I have a bunch of ideas to customize a

Ok, I've always had all these strange things I'd like to do to a guitar. *Does anyone know if I can:
* buy a kind of glue strong enough to stick some shag carpeting to the face of a guitar?
* if so, do I need to sand the finish off first?

Or how about this,
* can I cover the whole thing with shiny duct tape, then laquer over it? *I'll call it the Home Improvement RG

Carpet tape is pretty strong stuff. There are also any number of industrial adhesives that would do the job. Chances are, they'd stick to the paint just fine. You could do the tape thing, too. But why bother clearcoating over it? Just let it wear out and then replace it with more tape! That's what Tim would do!

I think you should clear over the duct tape. *That would be killer. *"Hacked, yet refined." *Police Tape would make a cool finish as well.
