Couple of questions for Rich - JS 1200

1. What's the best way to restring a JS 1200 (blocked trem)? I've always put the ball ends in the bridge, but I've heard recently somewhere that it's actually better for tuning stability to put them at the headstock. Not sure of how to actually go about that though...

2. With a blocked trem, is it necessary to tighten the locking nuts, or would it be better to just remove them all together for better playability/tone/sustain?

Thanks in advance!

I always leave the ball ends at the tuners.

A locking nut is never meant to be used unlocked, even if it's fixed it will hang bent strings and not allow them to return correctly.
