cracked neck on 777VBK!

My "mate" managed to crack the neck on my damn 777VBK(bought here I might add!) and I don't know what to do! Is it possible to get a new neck?Like are they still making them with the green vine and Jem and all on the headstock? This has a nice sanded down finish and everything! Is it possible for a luthier to repair? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

It can probably be fixed, take it in and have it looked at. You;d get better advice from someone who can actually see it.

Take it to a decent luthier - almost any neck crack can be repaired, and if it's done well will be an almost invisible repair, so long as you are not fiddling around with it and getting dirt and finger grease into the crack.

Rich from Ibanez Rules has a tutorial on reglueing a cracked UVMC neck - it's not really rocket science, but unless you know EXACTLY what you are doing, I'd strongly advise a quick trip to your local decent guitar repairer - the potential to really screw up what is most likely a simple (and cheap as no refinishing is involved) repair through lack of skill/knowledge/experience is very high!

+1

Almost any crack can be repaired by a good luthier, and you should definitely try with this neck. Probably your only other choice is a custom-built replacement, unless you get incredibly lucky to find a used one.

Post some pics of the damage.

As David said, don't mess around with it or get any dirt or grease into it, as that will interfere with the repair.

Yeah I was going to suggest pics too. How did he crack the neck if you don't mind me asking?
