Guitar setup Sunday today and my S540 and my Carvin DC400TA got new strings and a new setup. My Carvin needed a little
truss rod adjusment and I noticed how smooth the truss rod action on the Carvin was as opposed to my old S540. It does work very well on the Ibby and it is adjusted perfectly now, but when you turn it is not smooth and it goes in little creaky movements, noticed the same on my RG550 and RB project (all are 1988-1991 necks).
Would a little WD-40 on the truss-
rod adjustment screw help smoothen things out? I guess the WD-40 would slip inside the truss rod as well, is this healthy or would it create future problems?
