Cry Baby Wah-Wah (Dunlop) problem

I have this old Cry Baby Wah-wah from Jim Dunlop and lately I have been having troubles with it. When I turn it on and start using it there is this electrical sound on it (like someone going through mud). I can't figure what is causing it. Any ideas?

A good spray cleaning of the tone pot would be the place to start
