curious about your necks. Do you have a Favorite?

Do you guys with a "few" guitars have one guitar that just stands above all the rest? One that no matter what just feels "perfect" in your hands. I have many RGs, but I have one RG520QS with a neck from a RG570 that I put on kuz the original neck was too thin for me, and even if I don't play it for 2 months, as soon as I play it again, I think to myself, 'I wish all my necks felt this great', and I don't know what it is.
Wizards definitely vary, from thickness to the types of finishes on the back. I guess this one has the winning combination for me. I wish I could have this neck cloned.

Actually funny you say that but mine is a 520qs with a 570 neck on it as well *thats what its stamped as* This was stock though. So to each his own, this one is a thicker wizard, commonly referred to as the super wizard profile. THe most stable neck I own hands down, even more so than my les paul it never needs adjusting and sounds and plays vastly better than my other wizards etc. So you may be on to something that regards.

Honestly I have no favourites. This is really hard. I like all my guitars because they are so different.

If I had to choose with a gun to my head, to take to a desert island, I would take my usa strat neck from a custom I built as an all rounder. The jem, and my half scalloped 470L (fitted to a right hand body) would be 2nd and 3rd consecutively. The Jem is truly amazing for most applications though.

My '92 RG550 and '02 Jem 7VSBL are about equal in my mind, and I would almost say that I actually like the RG550 a little better.

The Wizard and Super Wizard profiles are exactly the same. The only difference is the construction. The Super Wizard is three piece with the wide bubinga stripe. --Jason

The necks on my J-Custom rg8670 and rg1880/8570. The 8670 has a nice thin 17mm assymetric neck and the 1880/8570 has a chunkier assymetric neck. (what's an assymetric neck?? think EVH Wolfgang where it's not a perfect U, C or D shaped neck where it's a bit lopsided.)

Re: curious about your necks. Do you have a Favorite?

One thing I know is that Wizards and super wizards don't exactly stick to the specs all the time. I think sometimes somebody at the ibanez shop dozes off with the belt sander in their hands and removes a bit extra. i actually had a super wizard with the bubinga stripe that was thicker than a wizard II. somebody screwed up on that one. so, you never know. most are pretty close, but they do vary. wizards are like a box of chocolates...you never know what your gonna get...where have i heard that before???????? ;-)
but in my opinion, it's the best neck out there. Or at least I haven't played anything else that I've liked as much.

Re: curious about your necks. Do you have a Favorite?

I have 18 guitars, which is ridiculous, I know. However, about 12 of them are actually played regularly and they range from Fender Strats to a bunch of Ibanez's and a couple other brands inbetween. Since I play all these at different times I have become quite used to switching neck profiles and radii, so I really don't even think about the neck specifically when I pick up one of my guitars. I usually choose them based on the pickup config depending on what I am about to play.

Naturally, I am aware of the different physical feel and tone of each guitar as I play them, but it's more of a totally encompassing difference than one specific thing like the neck. And so far I haven't gravitated to any one type of guitar over the other. I like them all and that's probably why they've stayed in my collection.

If I had to choose I'd probably go with a full Fender C profile because my hands are very large. But I am able to play all of my guits comfortably, even my super thin RG1570 Wiz Pres. neck.
