DiMarzio Straplock installation - In what order do I put thi

I've read the post about using the screws that come with the guitar and keeping the original pegs on.
What order do things go?
Which side of the brass thing goes towards the body?
Here's the order I've figured so far:
1. Screw(duh)
2. Peg
3. Plastic washer
4. Strap click thing(don't know which direction)
5. Felt
Is this right?
Do I even need the washer?

This is how I install them.
From the guitar out:

1. Felt
2. Plastic washer (yes, it is needed)
3. Clip lock end
4. Screw (goes through the brass insert, washer and felt)

The washer is added protection from the brass insert wearing through the felt.

I think there is a post up here somewhere on fitting the Dimarzio straplock and keeping your origibal strap buttons as well...

If you want to just put it on it's like said above, if you want to have your original straplocks/screws as well, just remove the brass ring from the locking part, then thread the original screw with strapbutton through the new enlarged hole, put on the plastic bit, then felt then in guitar. It works a treat, and it just looks cooler!

DiMarzio Straplock installation

As I recall kennydoe said that he screwed through the brass thing.
Do I just hold the brass thing with a plyers or something, and use a power screwdriver?
If I don't use the brass thing, wouldn't the fabric eventually tear?

If you are using the dimarzio screw, then keep the brass bit on, but if you want the strapbutton then use the screw that came with the guitar and remove the brass bit.

To remove the brass bit, simply wedge a screwdriver between it and the material and then lever it out. It's really really easy.

The material of the strap is polyester(i think)? In any case, the fabric has already been melted round the hole to form a solid circle of plastic around the hole so that the brass bit doesn't tear it, so putting a screw through it will be fine.

The reason I would actually recomend using the original screw + strap button as well is that not only does it look cooler, but I have had problems with an RG i have where the dimarzio screw just came out all the time. *I tried to fix it with the original screw and then decided to use the strap button as well, no problems since, and now I have done it to all the guitars I have with straplocks.

It'll hold well with either method, and my guitars do get thrown about a bit (well, only when they are hanging of me, the rest of the time I take good care of my children)
