Dimarzio vs. All Parts

I want to put a push/pull tone pot in my new Uvi for some full single coil operation. I was initially pursuing a Dimarzio pot but the local GC monkeys insist that will take them forever to order. Instead they want me to buy a pot by All Parts. Anybody have any opinion on which is a good idea or higher/lower in quality?

What exactly does the push/pull pot do? Cut the output?

The push/pull pots allow you to do multple configurations, like on a JS. On the JS, one push/pull pot coil taps and the other works as a high pass filter.

I'm going to use the push/pull on the tone control to allow full single coil operation. When the tone is pushed in, the pickups will operate like any other Uvi. When the tone is pulled out, the bridge and neck humbuckers will essentially become single coil pickups, which will make the Uvi work much like a strat with its three single coil pickups.

On another note, does anyone have info on the JS series (since you brought it up) whether the push/pull is actually for a coil tap or really for a coil split?

The JS uses the DPDT push-pull for coil split on both humbuckers - the term 'tap' is often misused this way.
