The size of the pot really doesn't matter so much as the brand. Lower quality pots won't last as long, are more prone to freeze up (if you rapidly sweeping the pot across its range) and are not as consistent, resistance-wise.
That being said, the standard "good" potentiometer brand is "CTS". Any guitars I build/have built now get them and any pots that go south will get replaced with CTS.
