DIY Locking Stud Mod

I got an RG1527, and im a DIY type guy when it comes to guitars. i Got everything i need to do the mod, except the 8mm, 1.25 pitch socket head set screw. Where do i get these?
and more importantly how do i grind them? once i can get that cleared up, i can take care of it.

Home Depot has the 8mm sets. You'll need a grinder obviously, and something to hold the set in while you grind it. I use a pulled open base insert from an EP with a stud in the other end to lock the set it. And, it WILL get HOTTTTT!!!

I got the right size screws, and i tried it w/o grinding to see what the action was like...it was crazy high lol.
I'm gonna go back up to ace hardware and see if they'll grind them down a couple of mm for me. If not, i guess i'll have to fold and blow the $$ on a grinder. Would it work if i used a dremel to cut a bit off the top instead? or would that screw up the threading?
I must say, btw, this whole locking stud mod idea is in-fricking-credibly genius.
