Do lo pro edge arm holders just wear out?

I've got 98 Jem7VWH that I bought brand new in 98. I've owned dozens of guitars over the years, but this Jem has always been my #1 so it sees the most playing time.

Recently the trem arm started moving around a lot in the block. I replaced the arm bushings and tightened up the arm holder and arm holder screw, but that didn't really help.

Does the arm holder just wear out over time? Worse yet, does the block loosen up after a decade of dive bombs?

Any help in figuring out which parts I need to fix this would be greatly appreciated

I had this happen a while back, and just realized I forgot an important step in the tightening process... doh!

I didn't actually tighten the nut, just the spring screw (which doesn't really help this problem). As usual the answer is usually right in front of me on ibanezrules and/or jemsite

I'll give that a shot tonight after work.

In my experience I have either had a tight one or a loose one. The one on my 10th would spin round after about an hour of having bushes fitted - even from new. Same with my old Floral. When I replced the arm holder, as I did on my 10th last week, I was lucky to get tight ones. The one on my 2005 7VWH has been flawless despite lots of use. Go figure.
I should point out that I like to find the arm exactly where I left it. SV seems to like it the other way.

I believe it does wear out.


I bought a replacement trem off ebay, and the bushings it had was not gripping the arm tightly. I shouldn't have forced it inside the arm holder, now the arm holder of my guitar is loose

I never thought a loose nylon bushing could ruin a steel arm holder that easy.
