Double Edge Piezo question

I just bought a 1620 and I have some questions about the electronics:

1. There is NO shielded wire from the selector switch to the pots to the pre-amp board to jacks. Will rewiring with some hi-end shielded wire make a difference. I get a bit more hum than my RG570 and RG7620.

2. When I am using the mag pickups only, is it a "direct" connection to the output jack? I chased the signal from the mag pickups and it goes into the piezo preamp board. I would like my mag pickups to drive my amp directly and not be buffered with the preamp board. If the signal goes to the board for switching purposes only and not connect to a buffer or gain circuit, I would be content with that...maybe...

I was thinking about adding a second switch that would allow the mag pickups to go directly to the output jack and bypass all the wiring and circuitry. I have some Seymour Duncans on the way and I would hate to lose "the tone" because of all the non-shielded wiring.

If anyone has the schematic for the PREAMP board, that would be awesome!

Thanks! Your help is GREATLY appreciated before I get out the soldering iron and go to town

That's the guy you want to talk too. He knows more about them than anybody else outside of LR Baggs.
