EBMM Axis setup

I am wondering about the general set up if anyone has had experience with this guitar. I switched from 9's to 10's and the high frett action was quite high. I gave the truss 2 1/4 turns to bring up the neck a little and it seemed to fix it a little. Since the trem is laying on the body I am unsure if I should drop the bridge at all to lower the action since it might not be parallel with the body anymore. THought I would ask before I start touching anything. Thanx guys....

The Axis is a hard guitar to set up, it doesn't have much adjustment built into it because is it basically the EVH guitar set up for Eddie. He uses light strings (9-40) and even the pickups are screwed hard to the wood with no adjustment. You can lower the bridge as low as it will got, which is pretty much level, it's probably already there if it's like mine. From there, the next thing to try is shimming the neck by putting a thin piece of shim stock (.020" or thinner) in the neck pocket closest to the body to change the angle of the neck relative to the bridge. It might take a few tries to find the correct thickness. If this doesn't make sense, or you haven't done this before, I would recommend finding a good tech that will do it for you, and hopefully show and explain what he is doing to you. I use 9-42 strings on my Axis and I still had to shim the neck some to get the action where I wanted it, and I wouldn't call it super low.

Hope this helps,
Roger
