Edge Intonation Tool...

I'm sure this subject comes up every so often, but I wanted to let you all know that Ibanez currently has, in stock, an item called the "Edge Adjust 3", which is an intonation adjustment tool akin to the long-lost tool we're all familiar with/lust after. Though the name of the item can lead to confusion, the Ibanez rep I spoke with (and ordered from) just moments ago swore up and down that this item WILL WORK JUST FINE on the original Edge trem system (unlike the more widely available "Key" intonation too; see Stewmac and Allparts, et al). Ibanez is selling the item for $19.99 each plus s+h/tax...I bought two of 'em. I'm greedy that way.

Anyway, just thought I'd pass this info along to all of you. I'll let you know how well it works when I receive it sometime later next week. Fingers crossed...

Who's your rep and where do we order it from?

Btw, the tool that stew-mac sells doesn't work with the Ibanez Edge, and they clearly stipulate that at the bottom of the page.

I don't have an edge pro, so I didn't ask...guess I should have asked on behalf of all the EP users out there. Oops...
If I had to venture a guess, though, I'd say that it won't work on an EP. Maybe Rich would like to chime in on this matter...

Forgot the guy's name, but I ordered from Hoshino USA at 215-638-8670; option 4.

And yeah, about the stewmac tool, that's what I said...

Too bad your rep has a lousey memory. Edgeadjust3 is the Lo Pro only tool. I usually have 20 or so in stock.

To answer the question, if the EP string lock screws were 2mm longer then the EA3 would work on it just like a Lo Pro.

Looks like I'm calling Hoshino back to cancel an order...

Edit: called back, canceled order. Spoke to the same rep ("Max" or "Matt"...couldn't quite make it out), and man, did he change his tune. He was like "Oh...Rich said it doesn't work...oh yeah...that's right...it doesn't work on original Edge trems." This in stark contrast to what I was told when I placed my order initially. Grrrrrrrr....thought I was on to a good find, there. Thanks for the clarification, Rich. As always, your far-reaching reputation precedes you.
