Edge Locking studs help
Hi everyone
I just got a nice RG from 1993 with an edge (i beleive it's a 470)
it plays beautifully
But it came with no
locking studs
.
I mean, theres is hole in each of the trem posts, but they're both empty. I beleive the previous owner removed them for some reason.
Could anyone give me the specifications and measures of this screws so that i have someone do them for me?
Thanks a lot!
I promise pictures once it's ready

Sorry, I didn't understand
What's in there? The screws?
I'm trying with all my
allen wrenches
and they all go deep inside but none of it seems to fit into the head of any kind of screw

Re: Edge Locking studs help
Back off on the main studs first. That will take off the pressure of the littles have on them and make it easier to get them out of loose.

I'll try then..
But what should I do with the rounded head?
the allen wrench almost slips inside it...

Re: Edge Locking studs help
Back the main stud completely out and you should have a bit of the inner stud sticking out the bottom that you can then grasp and remove.

Re: Edge Locking studs help
Get a new wrench, there's no way you stripped the head using a 1.5

If the screws are not exposed, leave them be. As I've stated before, locking studs are all hype. With having the tension on the springs adjusted properly, there is *no* apparent benefit in utilizing locking studs.

Re: Edge Locking studs help
Please stop stating it because it's false. Locking studs have been a benefit to tuning return for 20 years. One of the biggest causes of instability is loose stud inserts, which can cause wild swings in instability, and loose studs are the same problem, just on a smaller level.
