Edge Pro Routing

Advice would be much appreciated here:

I'm aware that an Edge Pro II and Edge Pro are interchangable after hearing success stories from people upgrading their bridge on the forum - but I don't suppose anybody knows whether I would be able to replace an Edge Pro II with an Edge Pro III?

why would you do that? you would downgrade your guitar...

Basically...

I have a JEM555, with very worn cosmo hardware. Since getting a 7VWH, I never use it. The guitar is signed by Vai, so I wanted to restore it by putting "new" hardware on it. so I was just going to buy a 350DX and part it out assuming the tremolo would fit into the EPII cavity.

Anyway, if anyone can give me an answer, I'd appreciate it.

Why not just buy an edge pro by itself? I have only played an EP but i've read that the EPs are better then the edge 2 and 3s. Wouldn't it save you some dosh just to buy a new tremolo rather then a whole axe?

I know what you mean - The Edge Pro is definitley better, however it's about £179. By the time I buy lock nuts, machineheads etc as well, it'll be in excess of £300, which is a lot to throw at a guitar which is now an ornament. I could buy a RG350 or something for about £250 and sell the neck and body.

...'just need to know if that trem will fit though.

nope, dont think it'd work, EdgeIII is bigger than EPII

Where did he sign it? I would just play the guitar IMO. A 555 is no Evo, so don't treat it like such.
