Edge Pro Trem Problems :S

Hey. I got an RG1570 lately from my local guitar shop and I loved it as soon as I picked it up. The guy is the store knew what he was doing when he set it up! I've been playing guitar now for about 4/5 years but I've only had one guitar during that space of time, and it didn't have a double locking trem so all of this stuff is new to me.

Recently it went out of tune (as in, all the strings were a bit flat and the fine tuners were as far as they could go) so I tried unlocking the nuts at the top and tuning it from pegs at the top. Got it tuned, a okay, but the guitar didn't sound the same. Everytime I moved from one string to another the previous string would resonate the open string after, e.g. if I played two notes on the low E string and then moved on to some notes on the A string, the E string would resonate, killing the sound of the notes I play on the A string. This never happened when I purchased the guitar (And no, I am not getting ****ter lol).

Tried adjusting the angle of the trem, in order to get the knife edge parallel to the body but it's still happening.

HELLLLLP!

Re: Edge Pro Trem Problems :S

I have man. Checked the angle of the trem and fine tuned it etc. Also had to replace a high E because I broke mine (being silly and fiddling about) but the over sensitive strings still remain.

It's really annoying becuase it never used to happen and I don't know what's wrong. It happened to me with my last guitar too which is one of the many reasons I decided to get a new one.

caps lock? lol. hmmm...I may have lowered the action to try and make the sustain a wee bit better but at the minute the strings are above the pickups by about 3mm or so. What would be an ample measurement?

i think 3mm should be ok, i`ve found that you get better sustain from a
slightly higher action. there seems to be a wee sweet spot with most rg/jems etc thats slightly higher than you`d think and all of a sudden the guitar sounds much better...you soon get used to a tiny increase in action height anyway....and yeah caps lock, new keyboard now lol !!
