Edge studs on an Edge Pro equipped guitar?

This isn't going to be what you think... I already know that Edge locking studs will not fit in an Edge Pro equipped guitar; what I want to know is whether or not my Edge Pro trem will work with locking Edge studs provided I pull the stud inserts out and install Edge inserts. For that matter, could I use an OFR with locking Edge studs provided I pulled the old inserts out and put in Edge inserts? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Its definitely been done, it really all depends on the thickness of your knife edges (on whatever trem your trying to retrofit) along with whether or not you do the studs right .

You shouldnt have to modify the knife edges as long as their not fat to begin with of course. IF you have older studs they may be the pinching variety in which case it wouldnt matter neways.

You don't need to replace the anchors to use locking studs. Go read the locking stud page on Rich's site (ibanezrules.com)-- everything you need to know is there as well as a hundred other threads here.
