Edge with threaded insert on my RG550? Need Help Pleasel

I'm kind of relearning this as I've just started playing again after taking 15 years off. So...

I just picked up a used 1987 RG550. It did not come with a tremolo bar. What's confusing is I remember my original 550 I bought in 1987, you pushed the bar in. On this one as you can see in the pic, it looks like there's a "nut" where the arm should go, it's threaded and I need to screw the arm in??

Were the Edge's made like this? Or did the previous owner mod this? Can it be changed back?

Or what bar do I get for it if I keep it the way it was?

I've attached a pic. The Edge on the yellow guitar has the threaded sleeve, the other Edge is a pic that I remembered them like.

Any help is appreciated!!

definitely a mod, edges always have pop in arms. dunno how easy it would be to revert back.

Yeah, it can be changed back. Theres a thread here that shows how to put the FR arm on, so just follow that in reverse. You will need to buy an Edge arm holder though, I dont know where to get them. Rich maybe?

It's pretty easy, you just need a deep socket and a rachet. Call Rich and order the trem arm assembly aong with a new arm and bushes and you shuold be good to go.
