i use .11-.48 gauge of strings and i have an
rg2550z (with
edge zero trem obviously).
until yesterday, i dealt with the trem being not quite parallel with the body of the guitar. the tremolo block in the back was as far back as it could be while still touching the stop rod in the back. the thing is, if you want the bridge to be parallel with the guitar with an edge zero with .11s it seems, it won't be touching the stop rod, therefore rendering the zero system pretty much useless.
so, i wrapped some tape over the bar to add about half a centimetre of thickness to the rod. i adjusted the tension so the bridge was parallel to the body. obviously, without the tape it wouldn't be touching the bar, but now with the tape, it was effectively how it should be.
i've been considering dropping down to .10s because of this, i think i might. i wonder if ibanez will ever fix this? or am i missing something huge...
anyway, quick fix for anyone with the same problem.
