Yes, the Edge and Lo Pro Edge are completely interchangeable.

Re: Edge3 Replacement Tremolo
Personally I don't understand what all the crying is about, I have an RG4EX1 (edge III) and it stays in tune perfectly. I'm assuming your edge III isn't set up right, people tend to set the edge III
base plate
level with the body of the guitar which is incorrect, as for the knife edges..... petroleum jelly from the get go.

No, they suck even when set up correctly
I've had three, they all gave out after a few months. One did something along the lines of what happened to this one;

Re: Edge3 Replacement Tremolo
I've only had very minor problems with my Edge III, but for the price they're a good choice I think.

Re: Edge3 Replacement Tremolo
Some Pics from my RG350DX OFR upgrade
OFR from 169.00
shipping about 10.00
Rock solid, beat the hell out of it and it still stays in tune.... Priceless
37mm block came with the OFR, fits fine, I think the 42 would have fit also
Make sure it says "Made in Germany"
The OFR studs screwed right into the existing inserts, lined up perfectly
The right side is close but it doesn't hit in any way
Small gap on left side but strings line up perfectly
Finally set up, thank god, quite the pain
End product, I'm loving the "FRED" in the bridge too
I've heard that the tolerances are not really that tight in the manufacturing process but in my particular guitar, the studs were spaced absolutely perfect and the cavity accomodated the OFR nicely. All in all, a pretty easy upgrade. Hope this helps anyone considering this.
Oh and the R9 nut is what I put on.

Not *entirely*. On all recent production guitars, they should be interchangeable yes... However, there is one difference: The LoPro Edge NEEDS a trem cavity, because the finetuning mechanisms are mounted below the baseplate.
The original Edge can also sit on top of the body, just like the OFR.
Certain older Ibanez guitars have an Edge 'on top', and a LoPro Edge won't fit, as the finetuners would touch the body.
Here's an example of such guitars:

Well spotted, that man!!!
Prhaps a techncality, but a
very
important one if you've got one of the older guitars in question!!!

Re: Edge3 Replacement Tremolo
I can't believe so many don't like the Edge III.
I love mine!!!
Stays in tune FOREVER despite the fact that I beat the living daylights out of the strings and use the bar QUITE often.
Maybe I got a good one or something???

Gotoh licensed
Floyd Rose
comes with locking studs, but you don't need to go that far. Check out Ibanez Rules (banner up top). I believe the locking studs for the Edge/Lo Pro Edge work for the Edge Pro. Ibanez Rules should have some, or be able to get some. I'd verify my statements with Rich though. It's been a while since I remember reading about it, and may have me facts not quite right.

Re: Edge3 Replacement Tremolo
I just finished a 320 where i replaced everything but the body. I had an old kramer striker with an ofr i put in , yes it will fit with some routing, but the block of the trem sticks out of the body to make contact with you to just it make impossible to keep in tune or hell you cant put the cover on. i need another edge 3 if anyone has one for sale, and i guess i got a black ofr forsale myself.

Re: Edge3 Replacement Tremolo
I have no good experiences with Edge 3 tremolos
You're lucky if yours keep the tuning when abused.
