Eek! RG neck problem - help!

To be honest it's not that huge a problem, but it's worrying nonetheless. I got a secondhand RG lately, and I got a great deal on it (like free) so I ain't complaining. The problem is, my friend the previous owner stored it for a fair amount of time destrung with only the bass E string on to stop the trem from sinking into the cavity. I think that this has caused the neck to kind of slip around slightly, so that the bass E string is really close to the side of the neck and slips off easily, where the top E string is closer to the middle of the neck than it should be.

This could be a Floyd problem rather than a neck problem, I don't know. Anyone seen something similar before/know how to fix it?

Thanks.

It's an old (1990) RG570, btw.

Just loosen the neck attachment bolts a little bit and adjust the neck to center.

Right on, there is usually enough play in the neck bolts to give you some leeway in centering everything and getting the strings parallel to the fretboard edges. Sometimes I find it helpful to loosen the locking nut entirely and slide it as far to the top of the fretboard as possible, helps keep that high E from falling off the fretboard when doing vibrato.

String her up and see what happens...when you loosen the neck bolts you don't have loosen very much, but be careful with those old style neck joints as well, too much tweaking and you could get that tell tale hairline crack, just don't go ape on it.
