equivalent neckplates to jem

i was wondering if the neckplates on

http://www.allparts.com/categories.p...=NECK%20PLATES

would work on a non-AANJ (obviously) body - or if those dimensions are different

oh and as far as screws would these work
http://www.allparts.com/categories.p...PLATE%20SCREWS

Re: equivalent neckplates to jem

The neckplates are all standard Strat dimensions. Those will be fine. The screws on top are too long, you'll need the GS3005's that are 1 3/8" long. They could be too thin and prone to stripping. Ibanez screws have a slightly fatter diameter than Fender style screws. You may want to check a local hardware store for a better match. I've used Fender sized screws in Ibanez necks with success, but I always take note of how it feels going in. If I think it's too loose for that particular neck I'll fill the hole, or at least coat the inside of the hole with thin CA (superglue) to thicken and strengthen the walls of the hole.

Heh heh, Sorry Frank mate, could'nt resist, It made me chuckle

"BACK ON TOPIC"

Like Frank said, Make sure the screws are the same size, and make sure you don't strip the threads in the neck.

Re: equivalent neckplates to jem

As far as the jack goes.....................the EP-0152-000 looks right. The 000 at the end of the code is just the colour number. 000 is chrome......001 is gold......002 is black. It's your choice. The one I mentioned is stereo ....... it works well if you use the smallest terminal for "hot" lead and the other two are ground. Use them both and it will have less chance of failure in the future. The volume I believe is the EP-0086-000 and the only tone pot on that page is the EP-4986-000. These parts should be readily available at your local music store. This way if they don't fit right........................test fit before you solder....................you can exchange them for the right part. Try not to destroy the package too bad and you should have no problems. Good Luck!

Re: equivalent neckplates to jem

Good eye on ya. Yes you should run a ground to the trem. The final ground on a guitar is the human factor. Once you put your hands on the string you are the final ground. To do this the ground must run to the bridge or in your case the trem claw. You can have not enough grounding but you can never have too much.

Re: equivalent neckplates to jem

Sure, that would work fine. It's best if all the grounds are connected to each other.
