Ever use NEVR DULL wadding polish on frets?

I found some of this laying around at work and tried it on a couple of frets. It seems to work well to clean them up and add a nice shine. Anyone use this? Any opinions? Thanks.

John

it work really good on metal but it's gunna kill your fretboard if you let it touch it so it's not worth it IMO

yeah it'll dry out the wood a lot and your fretboard has a huge high risk of cracking or splitting. IE wood filler or new fretboard. Rich should have a tutorial on his website on how he shines and polishes frets.

just tape off the wood between frets and then hit the frets with some 0000 steel wool, will look nice and shiny in no time.

I use it on my guitars to do a final polish for my frets. Like nightfiend said, just tape off the frets before you use it.

I have used it as well but prefer to use steel wool or a polishing wheel with compound on a dremel. I always use those stainless steel pieces from stewmac to protect the fingerboard.

Okay here is my super top secret fret polishing method. Go to a jewelry store and get a jewelry pollishing cloth. (like this http://www.watchpolishing.com/polishingcloth.htm) They have two sides, usually the white side cleans and the grey or pink side buffs. Spend a little time polishing your frets with this and you will have the shiniest frets in town. It also seems to be very gentle to fretboards.
