Experiences with different string gauges on edge-guitars

Hi there,

18 month ago I switched string gauges on my Edge-Equipped Radius (from 9 to 10). Now I am planning to go on to 11.

Following questions:
What string gauges got you on your guitar (well, at least those having a floyd-rose-like bridge)

During bendings I made the experience that I pull my edge-tremolo (just with the strings). Is this normal, due to the strings gauge or do I have to consider more about the setup (neck"tension")?

And yes, I followed Ibanez FAQ when I changed from 9 to 10.

Thanks,
Lenny

If you don't want to pull your trem out when bending, you should get a tremsetter.

Otherwise it is normal for the floating tremolo to come up when you bend, esp. if you bend to achieve more than a full tone change.

I quite like the fact that the trem gives if you bend a lot, because it makes bending easyer.
Also you don't put as much strain on the strings as you would with a tremsetter or a fixed bridge.

Hope that helps.
