F2 / Evolution - output levels....

Was practicing the other night using my RG until I broke a string in mid-song. I reached down and grabbed the Jem, plugged it in, and I could hardly be heard. *HUGE difference...The RG seemed twice as loud as the Jem. *I checked the pickup height afterward on both guitars & they're basically at the same spot.
I've never noticed that much of a difference before...
Any ideas? Is this normal?

Thanks!!

F2 / Evolution

I got a mail from the tech guys at DiMarzio saying that the F2 isn't really like any other pickup in their standard range, but it's out put is somewhere between that of the Double Whammy and the Tone Zone.

So that's what? Somewhere between 330 and 375 mV (from memory)

Hope this helps, someone with a catalogue handy can probably check the output levels of these 2 DiMarzio pickups for sure.

The Evo, (bridge) has 404mV output (again from memory) so should be just as loud as the F2
