Fast fret, going no where fast

whenever i use fast fret it seems to stick in some places and not feel fast at all, i have had more luck with baby oil but this seems to clog up my board any advice. the stickyness is especially noticable on slides on the g string above the 12th fret

yeah, i totally use lem oil to clean fretboards. that and an old toothbrush. as far as playing faster, when i went to see dokken a few years ago, i saw reb beach put baby powder on his hands to absorb sweat. i guess this would be like "temporary tung oiled neck on a laquered one" feel. anyway, i haven't tried it, but it sounds like a really good idea. i play pretty fast without any product help, the only thing i try to do is wash my hands with soap before i play, usually under warm water. it helps to get the hands acclimated to having blood flow more freely in the hands and gets dirt, sweat, and oils off the hands. the less finger cheese on the fretboard keeps better intonayion and less of a chance of "barbed wire" from happening.

Gibson has this Fretboard Conditioner stuff that I like. It seems to work quite well. I've only seen it in a package containing that, string cleaner/lubricant (yeah-whatever), and lemon oil.

thanks for you advice, as always. why in the hell would someone market a product that ends up making you play less fast??! i agree about playing with no lubricant, i often clean my fretbaord with mr. sheen furniture polish , dont know if i should but its ok it hasn't ruined anything i dont think, if i wash my hands and play if feels really good and natural, its just i need something extra to make it smooth.

I've been using Fast Fret for over 10 years and have never had that sort of experience. I think if anything you should look at how you're applying the stuff: wipe it on and don't use the towel to wipe it off but use it to distribute the stuff evenly across the length of strings. Get a handfull of it and give em' a good rub if you feel the need.
