Film over one of the abalone inlays on my VWH

On the 11th fret of my JEM7VWH, there is a brownish colored film over the abalone inlay, which pretty much makes that inlay not visible in most light. Any idea on how I can get rid of it?

Hahaha, I won't. Does anyone know how I can get rid of this film? I've tried steel wool, didn't work.

tiny bit of metho on a rag, then wipe off immediately?
