Fixing stripped wood thread

Hey all title says it all, I'm thinking about using toothpicks and elmer's glue, breaking toothpicks and using elmer's glue to get it in and when enough is in there, screwing the screw in while wet til it dries with the screw's thread. *What you guys think?

i happened to fix many strap knobs, and i always used toothpick & glue.
i NEVER had any sorta problems anymore, even with Vai-ish abuses.
put alot of pressure while sticking toothpicks into the hole, they must fit well in it.

I don't know if anyone else has tried but JB Waterweld works great! Of course you only have around a minute and a half to two minutes to work with it, but it does an excellent job. Only piece of advice I have is to make sure you completely fill the whole, and as soon as you finish make sure you have finish friendly cloth handy so you can wipe the residue off as soon as you finish filling the hole!!! Let it set for 24hrs then find a drill bit that's smaller than the screw your using for your strap screw. From there redrill the hole and install your strap holder(whatever you call it). You should be good to go from there!! Anymore questions let me know???
