I tried to approach the sound, but there is no actual 6101 model on the G9.2tt, so the distortion doesn't quite sound the same. I can give you those settings if you want.
That would be great mate, please PM.

I guess that sounds really fat, and still that characteristic 'scream' in the high-end.
With this kind of sound, it's barely distinguisable from a
Les Paul
.
That's very different, indeed! It reminded me of
Joe Satriani
's tone on 'Flying in a blue dream', at times. Wow.

Yea, well... For years I tried to sound like Satriani... then I realized I don't even *like* Satriani's sound
My current sound is more of a valve-like sound, sorta like Malmsteen or
Van Halen
. Not those icky
Boss pedal
sounds.

Re: Flamed maple top?
I know this is an old thread and all, but I feel the need to once again set the record straight on the RG570CT. There is not an ounce of maple on it. I have 2, one in amber and one in blue. The blue's "flame top" was quite obviously fake. So after reading numerous people on here saying that the flame is just a photo, and noticing that the wood grain on the back side of the guitar was quite nice, I sanded the whole thing down and stained it. The "flame" sanded off quite quickly, leaving me with some scrumptious alder grain.
It has since gotten some other "customized" adornments.

Re: Flamed maple top?
It actually looks quite nice with that natural finish
Shame about the crappy tremolo though. LoPro Edge ftw!

Re: Flamed maple top?
Actually, I quite enjoy this Floyd Rose Pro. It's got a real smooth feel to it, and the fine tuners are big and grabby. It was also the only thing I had laying around as I was piecing this guitar together. And I don't mind having having a bit of diversity amongst my tremolos.
