Floater or Fixed? - Mod to a pre-routed body

I have an old Radius (still) Im working on, and can't decide if I should leave the Lo-Pro in it, or fill the cavity in and go with a fixed bridge.
I have a JPM, and a Jem (until it sells), so I figure for doing some low stuff (dropped D or C) I could use a shorter scale neck with a fixed bridge. *Anyone got any thoughts on filling in the trem cavity and putting a fixed bridge on the body?

Anyone can correct me on this, but I'm pretty sure the Radius is a 25.5" scale.

It would be a lot easier to just block the trem. Filling can be a pain in the ars and ugly.

I'd agree with Jimm... just block the trem. It won't quite give you the same low-end “oomph” that you'll get from a fixed bridge (especially with the strings through the body), but it'll be easier and more versatile should you change your mind later.

Also, if you want to experiment with dropped tunings, you want a longer scale length, not a shorter one. The longer scale length (along with heavier strings) will give you added string tension which will help compensate for the “floppiness” you get when you drop the tuning.

Warmoth makes baritone retrofit necks that fit 25.5´´ scale length guitars like your Radius. They have 27´´ scale lengths.

They did make a fixed bridge S, with the Les Paul tune-o-matic type bridge. I see them sometimes on eBay, maybe that's what you should be looking in to.

And I do believe the S's and R's are 25.5.
