Floyd original to an Edge?

Does anyone know if I can install either a new complete Floyd rose original, or just a Floyd original bottomplate into my RG460 with an Edge tremolo?

If you want to install the FR baseplate you have to shim the saddles, because the Edge has identical saddles, with the radius in the baseplate, while OFR's have varied saddle heights. Unless the Edge baseplate is damaged beyond repair there is no advantage.

So if the Edge baseplate is damaged beyond repair, I might as well just buy a new one?
