Re: foam padding

its just foam dude, you can use anything that will compress underneath the pup and apply a little upward force. I've seen people use hollow rubber tubing before, paper, etc.

If you REALLY want foam, then try bed shops. One near me actually has little sample pieces of foam in a display stand, alongside sample springs and pocket springs. They're meant to demonstrate the differences between pillow or mattress materials, but they're there to take.

Re: foam padding

I found some of that black foam in 8-1/2 x 11" sheets at a hobby store here. It has adhesive on the back so you just cut to size, peel it off and apply it. Not sure what the intended use was, but it works great for lining pickup and trem cavities.

Re: foam padding

hi, should foam only be used in direct mount cavities or is it also recommended for pickguard mounted pups?

Re: foam padding

I've also used foam from the pickup packages. Just cut it into a strip and cram it in there with a small screwdriver or something.

Re: foam padding

Order a sample pack from Tempurpedic, you know, the space age mattress company. The block they send is enough to do 10 guitars, and the stuff never wears out.

They make a damn comfortable mattress too, but I wouldn't hack it up for a set of Dimarzio's.

Hi, I can't figure out where to order this on their website. Can you possibly post a more precise link please?
