Re: Fret buzz?

I think if you loosen the truss rod some, that should help. But I'd suggest waiting for more responses cause I'm no expert. And it also only really matters if you can here the buzzing coming through your amp on a clean setting. Good luck with it.

Re: Fret buzz?

If the strings buzz when you play them open then the nut probably needs shimming slightly and if they are buzzing when you fret them above the first 4 frets then the truss rod needs adjusting, to put more bow in the neck by turning the adjuster anti clockwise no more than a quarter of a turn at a time.

Re: Fret buzz?

If the open strings buzz on the first fret, raise that side of the nut with a shim. Otherwise, it isn't a nut problem. Fret at the first fret and see where the buzzing happens. A little more neck relief might help, or you might have a couple high or loose fret ends. I'd expect buzzing in the 5-7 fret area if you didn't have enough relief, but not necessarily. Raising the action on that side might help too, depending on where it is now.
