Getting Ready for Build #1: Wood help

I have finally decided on a Star body for my first build.
Much like the Gus G and Roope Latvala signatures.

I use a SS stack (Randall RG80ES) and will be putting in Alnico V Twin Blade Humbuckers (Wilde Bill's), a Gotoh Floyd, and either a Maple/Maple or Maple/Rosewood neck.

Many say this kind of combination is shrill and sterile, with low, un-pronounced mids...

1. Which body wood would help make up for this "lack of mids", while still keeping a pronounced bottom and bell-like highs?

2. I am also interested in a pickup boost for leads, like the EMG AB and PA2. What would you recommend for a boost?

Paduak body, I have one with a B&B L500-XL in the bridge, maple/ebony neck, and Gotoh Floyd, sounds great.

Preamp, none, just a 500K volume pot, if you need a boost, use a pedal. (IMHO, YMMV)

1. Bubinga
2. Padauk
3. Wenge
4. Alder
-I put this here mostly because it's a very evenly-balanced wood so you can work with your neck/fingerboard woods around it.
