Got a new guitar, but its got fret buzz on one string at one fret how to fix?

Ok im pretty good at modding and repairing but I never came into this problem before where one fret buzzes only on one string..

Its the 7th fret on the D string only..

How does one go about fixing the problem?

Sounds like a high fret. I would probably tap on the frets in front of it with a hammer and a wooden block or maybe a rubber mallet. I'm sure others would disagree but thats what I would try. (see disclaimer below)

If it's got a trem with individual saddles you could try putting a thin shim under just that saddle. Small pieces of a soda can work in a pinch. Otherwise maybe just get the frets planed.

ok after further review, its not as bad as I thought.. Problem fixed..


No Hammers were used in this repair.
